God's Simple Plan
of Salvation

Are You Sure about Heaven?

Think carefully on this soul-searching question: if you were to die right now, do you know for sure you would go to heaven? If your answer is anything other than, “Yes, I am absolutely certain that my sins are forgiven and that heaven will be my home,” then here is an important message just for you. The Bible teaches that you need to know and believe these things to settle this.

First, you have sinned against God.

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10).

Then God tells us where sin leads.

“Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12).

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

The wonderful news of the Bible is that Jesus loves you and died in your place to pay the penalty for your sin.

“But God commendeth [demonstrates] His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Now, here is what God wants you to do.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9).

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

God wants you to believe His Word and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

It is necessary to repent of your sin (be sorrowful for your sin nature and agree with God that you are a sinner) before Jesus can save you. You must ask in faith, believing that Jesus will save you, as you trust in the completed work Jesus did on the cross. If you will, then right now pray a simple prayer, asking the Lord to save you.

Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you came to earth and died on the cross for my sins and that you rose again from the dead and now you live in heaven. I’m sorry for sinning against you. Please forgive me for my sins and come into my heart and save me right now. Thank you for saving me and giving me eternal life. I ask you to be the Lord of my life from now on. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Congratulations! If you prayed that prayer in repentance and faith, believing it with all your heart, then you are saved! You will go to heaven when you die, and starting now, God will help you throughout your entire life if you will let Him. It is important to allow Him to be the Ruler of your life, and to stay away from sin. Eternal life starts now! He can be your best friend. Tell others that you are saved. Read your Bible daily and pray every day. Find a good Bible-believing church in which to serve and worship.
